Music Direction

Developing new musicals from
workshop to world premiere.

New musicals need more than musical preparation. They need a music director who can support the score, the singers, the room, and the evolving shape of the piece.

New musicals are discovered in real time. The score changes. The cast is learning material
that may not exist tomorrow. The creative team is finding the piece together. Successful music direction means moving quickly, listening carefully, and keeping the room
artistically grounded while the work takes shape. That’s where I do my best work.

What I Bring to the Room

MUSICAL LEADERSHIP

I bring musical clarity, decisive
leadership, and a steady hand
that helps rehearsal rooms
move forward.

SINGER-CENTERED TEACHING

I translate music quickly and
clearly so singers can work with
confidence, ease, and dramatic
specificity.

CALM UNDER PRESSURE

I stay grounded in fast-moving
rooms, adapting quickly while
supporting artists through
change, uncertainty, and
deadlines.

CREATIVE COLLABORATION

I collaborate fluently with writers,
directors, and actors, using a
strong sense of story and
structure to serve the piece.

DEVELOPMENT

Workshops, readings, and labs.
I help shape new material with
flexibility, dramaturgical
awareness, and musical insight.

TECHNOLOGY

Fluent in Sibelius, Finale, Dorico,
Logic, Ableton, and MainStage,
I adapt quickly to new tools
and integrate technology smoothly into the creative process.

REHEARSAL

From music prep to daily
rehearsal, I teach, conduct, and
organize the room with clarity,
efficiency, and care.

PERFORMANCE

I lead ensembles and support
artists in delivering polished,
consistent, and inspired
performances.

The Way I Work

I believe difficult work can still be joyful.

The best rehearsal rooms are rigorous without becoming fearful,
ambitious without becoming overwhelming, and demanding without
losing their humanity.

I care deeply about artistic excellence, but I care just as deeply about
the people making the work.

Great performances happen when artists feel supported enough to take risks.
